Joely and Tricia Leigh Fisher Are More Than Sisters (2024)

The two beautiful daughters of actress/singer Connie Stevens and her former husband, crooner Eddie Fisher, are both talented actresses and singers in their own right and love being moms more than anything.

And then they pensively say: "The Gypsy life. Being able to travel around the world, ordering room service, and seeing different cultures from our own."

You see, Joely Fisher and her sister Tricia Leigh grew up around the business. And there's no stopping them now.

Mom is actress and singer (recently profiled here in the Palm Desert Patch) and dad is the late singer Eddie Fisher, who was also husband to Debbie Reynolds and Elizabeth Taylor.

Actress Carrie Fisher is a half-sister to the Fisher girls, and they are very close with her.

"She's like our spiritual guidance counselor," remarked Tricia, laughing.

Joely Fisher has distinguished herself as a top notch actress of her generation appearing in countless TV shows, starring recently on Fox TV's "Til Death" with Brad Garrett and "Wild Card" on the Lifetime Channel a few years back.

Joely played Nina Fletcher, a notably derisive character on the ABC smash "Desperate Housewives," was a regular on "Ellen" and is currently filming a TV movie "Cupid" for the Hallmark Channel which will be out in February of 2012.

"I am very fortunate I keep working all the time. But I still make time for my family," Fisher said.

Joely has three daughters and two stepsons with her husband director and writer Christopher Duddy.

"I love working as an actress or even singing with my mom, but I also love my life at home and I really enjoy coming with my family to our family home in Palm Desert and just chilling out. Seeing the (San Jacinto) mountains always just puts me a zen like state. I love it!" Fisher said.

Kid sister (by less than two years) Tricia Leigh keeps busy with her two sons and stepson, while husband Byron Thames is an accomplished musician and composer.

Both Byron and Tricia have been working with mom Connie Stevens on her live show performing recently in Las Vegas.

"We hope to bring the show to Palm Springs soon, as Mom loves it here. We all do. I've been coming to Palm Springs and Palm Desert with Joely since we were really young,'' she said.

"It's a second home to us. It's only two hours away (from Los Angeles) but it seems like it's a whole world away. There's nothing like the hot still air in Palm Desert at night."

Tricia also runs the "Treehouse Social Club" in Los Angeles, which is a very unique children's play center with lots of activities for children, birthday party fun, and even a hip clothing boutique and cafe all in one self contained facility.

"Katie Holmes, Cindy Crawford and Jennifer Garner have brought their kids in and Paul McCartney even did a book reading with his daughter Beatrice last year," Fisher said.

Mom Connie Stevens is very proud of her daughters and always features them in a solo spotlight number in her show if both are in attendance, which they try to be at almost every show Mom performs.

"Mom grew her own backup singers she always says," said Tricia Leigh.

Tricia recently appeared on "No Ordinary Family" and "The Mentalist," but still looks forward to "down time in the desert" more than anything these days.

"With all that's going on in our family, just driving down to the desert a few days with my family is the ultimate vacation ... and if by chance I get an audition, I'm only two hours from home on the 10 (Freeway)," Fisher said.
